Light at the Beginning of the Tunnel

Sixteen years ago, I had the privilege of interviewing acclaimed poet Essex Hemphill, who died of AIDS in 1995, just as the world began to embrace the Internet.

While his energy lives on though his passionate words, I've been fortunate enough to survive living with HIV/AIDS thus far. As such, it is a great honor to keep alive the voices lost too soon to an epidemic that for years knew of no light at the end of the tunnel.
